location. Determine and enter work request requirements in terms of manhours,
skill levels, materials and equipment required and assign criticality. In
cases of criticality/equipment breakdown, liaise with production and operation
support to immediately respond to production requirement.

7. Ensure that all work orders and check lists are completed with actual manhours

System (CMMS). At the end of each shift, discuss work with the Maintenance
Superintendent and update him on the current situation within the Unit, discuss
problems requiring technical or logistical requirements and any delays in
programs. Responsible for the maintenance of all section records, procedure,
files and drawings. Review stores and purchase requisitions for non-stock
materials through the system.
8. Evaluate HVAC improvement suggestions and strive to improve
efficiencies within his area of responsibility. Assist in the development of
proposals for modifications or installation of new HVAC equipment and control systems (Reviewing engineering work packs etc in his field of expertise). Supervise any in-house project work carried out by technicians, personally carrying out the more complex modifications and/or installations. Participate in the testing and commissioning of new or modified equipment and systems.
9. Participate in the planning and supervise the execution of major
equipment/plant turnarounds and shutdowns for his discipline. Prepare work
lists, review requests from Production, operation support and assist in the
development of an overall work plan for the overhaul/shutdown in conjunction
with Operations team. Participate in the recalibration, testing and start-up of
overhauled / new equipment.
10. Ensure that all activities of the unit are carried out in accordance with the
Company's safety policies and procedures and applicable engineering
standards. Ensure that all safety rules and regulations are fully explained to
Company and contractor employees; that appropriate safety and protective
equipment is ordered and stocked in the work unit; that safety notices are
prominently displayed in all work areas; and that all accidents and incidents are
efficiently investigated and analysed, including implementation of measures to
avoid recurrence.
11. Attend regular meetings with Production personnel, planning team and other
maintenance supervisors to discuss work, set work priorities and to coordinate
and schedule the day's activities. Update daily maintenance reports and
discusses technical and manpower management issues with Maintenance
Superintendents. Maintain good personal and working relationship with all
other craft Supervisors.
12. Review and update Preventative Maintenance (PM) procedures, drawings,
project scope of works, and bill of materials.
13. Participate in Company safety programs. Ensure own safety, safety of the team and plant is always maintained. No work is authorised that may affect any
safety aspects.
14. Carry the responsibility within company emergency response plan/ Incident
management team (IMT) as required.
15. Carry out regular PTW audits within the e-Vision system, at frequencies
directed by requirements offshore.
16. Supervise and/or carry out a range of other similar or related duties including:
  •  Monitoring and controlling the regular or ad-hoc use of contractors.
  • Supervising the correct identification, use and where possible reclamation
of spare parts and materials.
  • Identifying the requirements to remove and replace equipment, liaising with
the Return/Repair Workshops in Jebel Ali on all return work.
  • Ensuring the ongoing development of staff.
17. Ensure implementation of changes approved by Management of Change
process (MOC) in their area of responsibility and liaise with Change Approval Form (CAF) coordinator for timely close out of the CAF.
18. Review engineering work packs and provide appropriate feedback.
19. Ensure Quality Non-Conformance (QNC) process is initiated whenever a
situation is identified in his area of responsibility. Liaise with Quality Assurance
(QA) specialist for resolution of any QNC.
20. Ability to lead and join Incident investigation teams and work within the HSE
Incident reporting system.
21. Operate within framework of overall maintenance programs, determining the
actual work content of work requests and setting priorities for work within
programs. Operate in accordance with maintenance policy and applicable.

Educational Qualifications:
  1. Completion of Secondary (10 years) education, followed by 3 years' Diploma or
apprenticeship in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineering OR SVQ Level 3: Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems (Commercial & Industrial Refrigeration systems Non- Ammonia) (Equivalent to UK City and Guilds/ NVQ/ HNC).

Experience Profile:
  1.       2.  8-10 years' varied Air conditioning, Ventilation and heating installation, maintenance, and repair experience on equipment in the oil production industry. Experience should include some supervisory experience and the use of computerised and maintenance and materials systems.
  2.       3.  Ability to develop / authorise and review Medium and low Voltage Switching plans and work scopes.

Competencies/Skills/Others:
  1. Good written and spoken English.
  2. Should be computer literate, having knowledge of MS application/ CMMS
            (Preferably Oracle).
  1. Familiar with Risk Assessment techniques: JSA, Task Risk Assessment /
           Operation Risk Assessment.
  1. Knowledgeable in applicable international hazardous area classifications,
            And explosion proof standards.
