Job Description: Job Purpose
The Offshore Installation Manager (OIM) is the overall responsible person for the rig and its personnel. He must take an extensive series of safety, environmental and leadership courses to build up the necessary theoretical knowledge to lead a crew of up to 100 members.
The OIM is also the overall responsible person for all safety of personnel onboard, and he ensures that all operations onboard are performed in line with all rules and regulations. He also ensures that the Well Operations Drilling or Completion Supervisor is kept informed about all activities and operations on board the rig.
The OIM will manage the manpower and resources of the rig to achieve optimum
performance so as to ensure the program is carried out in a safe, efficient and
productive manner.
The OIM will promote and ensure that all Company Policies and Procedures are
communicated and understood by personnel on the rig.
