Activities
- Be focal point for all aspects related to instrument & Integrated Control & Safety System (ICSS) discipline within ECP department
- Responsible of the instrument & ICSS design selection of new projects, modifications (RFMs) or solutions to problems.
- Ensures that produced design dossiers are fit to purpose, cost effective, in accordance with Company specifications and safe for operational purpose.
- Assist Development department in the execution of engineering Pre-studies.
- Perform Basic engineering and/or detailed design in his specialty for all projects & RFMs.
- Review & approval of Engineering Deliverables produced by others (Engineering companies, contractors, partners).
- Propose concepts applicable to the requested modifications and define the most appropriate one in coordination with the Instrument & ICSS lead engineer.
- Prepares basic and detailed design of modification ( RFMs) in accordance with standards, codes, and company specifications.
- Ensure that produced drawings designs are safe, easy to built and install and in accordance with company and industries specifications.
- Participate in meetings internally, as well as externally (Coordination, KOM, project meetings, RFM meetings…).
- Visit contractor’s premises regularly and controlling safety, quality & work progress.
- Providing necessary coordination and guidance to contractors and ensuring high level quality.
- Involved in preparation of technical tender documents, scope of works, technical clarifications and technical evaluations.
- Issuing technical dossier of material requisition (MR) & Request for quotations (RFQ) (specification, data sheets , drawings, quantity take off).
- Perform technical bid evaluation.
- Prepare and Performs site surveys to prepare engineering and to ensure that design fits to purpose, in particular site visit during project critical phases & technical assistance to site.
- Coordination with FO instrument & DCS team for shutdown preparation and instrument & ICSS aspects of projects & RFMs in order to optimize the scope, resources & activities.
- Issue calculation notes & sizing when required.
- Prepare JRA (Job Risk Assessment) and JRA meeting.
- Prepare precommissioning & Commissioning part of RFMs.
- Assist planning engineer, cost estimator & cost controller for Instrument & ICSS discipline.
- Manage and Supervise drafters/designers works.
- Ensure equipments Factory Acceptance Test are properly executed and attend whenever possible the FAT or organize technical witness with HQ inspection department.
- Technical assistance, recommendation and coordination with other departments and disciplines for specific instrument & ICSS issue.
- Answer technical queries from site or contractors and follow up the implementation of his recommendations.
- Supports the construction team in providing technical expertise.
- Elaborate MTO based on produced instrumentation drawings.
- Warehouse visit mainly for material reception and approval of good receipt.
- Check that materials used on design meet Company specifications.
