Coral South floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) project located offshore Mozambique, in the southern part of Area-4 of Rovuma Basin, is the first FLNG project in Africa. It will be the world’s first ultra-deep water FLNG facility.
The Instrument Technician reports to the Lead Instrument Technician and/or on demand to I&C Supervisor.
- During Project activities the role is initially based in Geoje, South Korea, at Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) Shipyard until sail away to Mozambique.
- During shipyard commissioning and start up the role will be on a 12-week / 2-week roster.
- When on location in Mozambique work will be on equal rotation
The role will have the necessary instrumentation skills and experience to support all instrumentation commissioning and start-up activities as required, as part of the O&M Team. Once commissioned systems are handed over at RFSU the role will conduct instrumentation maintenance on field instrumentation, including F&G instruments, fault diagnostics and repair activities within the facility to provide optimal availability and reliability in compliance with all HSE standards and in line with Electrical Safe Work Practices.
The role is responsible for the maintenance and availability of all field instrumentation, including but not limited to process control and marine equipment, rotating equipment, pedestal cranes, workshop machinery, fixed and portable instrumentation / calibration equipment.
